SYNOPSIS
A young rough sleeper wakes up in a park. He appears to have a score to settle and we see him steal a hammer from a shop. The intensity mounts as he prepares himself for the deed.
The narrative jumps around in time, with stylised flashbacks punctuating the main story. Shot in a 4:3 aspect ratio, it confines the audience to the subjective world of the protagonist.
SOUND DESIGN & SCORE
Being a dialogue-free film, it allowed us to get highly creative with the sound. There is lots of gritty, custom recorded foley. The editing style features lots of harsh cuts which we emphasised through risers and drops.
The score is in a hybrid eletronic / orchestral style, with three cues supporting key parts of the narrative. It builds in tension throughout with a moment of release at the end.
